An existing machine needed to be modernized. This required migrating the control system from SINUMERIK 840D sl to SINUMERIK One while complying with the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Maintenance operated primarily on ad-hoc requests; work orders (such as machine downtime and maintenance) were hard to track. Actual efficiency remained unclear while operational costs rose uncontrolled.
Orders from an online shop had to be manually translated into production jobs. There was no feedback loop from machines to the sales system regarding production status.
